The translation profession is undergoing a period of rapid development driven by advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs). To thrive in this changing landscape, translators need to adopt a skillset that blends market-oriented expertise with cutting-edge translation technologies. This AI-driven shift also impacts education, marked by the rise of online and AI-assisted teaching, which urges translation teachers to adapt to the digital world. However, current translation education is based on traditional classroom settings, lacks AI support, and prioritizes linguistic and cultural competences over industry-demanded technological skills.

To address this discrepancy, this project proposes an innovative LLM-powered teaching method in translation education, aiming to equip students with in-demand skills and knowledge for the technology-driven industry, thereby enhancing their employment prospects. To achieve this aim, the project will produce courseware for translation teaching, including a comprehensive prompt bank, a number of specialized feedback chatbots, a series of realistic simulation scenarios, and a sample course with the proposed teaching method implemented. These outcomes are designed to be adaptable to other translation courses and potentially transferable to other programs.
